On Bar 46 Ranch, we have a yearly branding. It is a mixture of the new and the old. I always build a large fire and heat the original Bar 46 brand, which was registered in 1920. Others bring their cattle and join me for the day. Some use their modern electric brands.
However we individually decide to brand our cattle, there is always lots to do, but it’s a festive time as well. Lunch, of course, is an important part of the day’s work and celebration. Here’s one of my tables.
